<p>I am wondering if anyone can recommend an insurer that can deal with a home built boat. </p>
<p>Or advice about surveys to get some insurance.</p>

<p>In the distant past one could sometimes moor on some of the PLA pontoons, but I don’t know if they would offer a plug in.</p>

Now we have a much bigger one. The rails certainly make a difference. <p></p>
<p>Motor is an 72v 3000 watt BLDC quad bike motor, with the original controls adapted to work with a Morse single lever &#8211; gets about 4 1/2 knots, using the chain drive from the quad bike kit.</p>
<p>The motor replaced an 11hp diesel.</p>

We all need more practice trying out all the manoeuvres we have learnt. It was really cold out on the River Thames, hence my wife wrapped up in layers.</p>
